Notes from Blog Review
Technical Things for the Blog
Please use the sidebar and the labels setting to tag your name on all your posts
This will help Gary grade your work and keep the blog organized
Keep all of your images in a vertical line so we can focus in on each piece individually
To help even further, you can hit enter 2-4 times to space the images out and give them some breathing room, and make your work easier to look at
From now on, post your workbook/homework assignments in batches
For example, if you do a trip to the park on one day and do mastercopies another day, please make those separate posts. Please also label what kind of assignment the workbook post is, for example: Tobi Kishimoto_Homework_Westchester Park or Tobi Kishimoto_Homework_Eytan Zana Mastercopies
Please separate out your work from both Olvera street trips into two separate posts
Tag your work from the first trip as Olvera Street #1 and the second trip as Olvera Street #2
If you could only make one trip, please tag your one post as Olvera Street #1
When making a post, make sure to put a title in so we know who you are when we look through the blog
Example: Tobi Kishimoto_Workbook/Homework
Please make sure that you're making your images x-large when posting them. We want to be able to see your work when it's in the regular blog view and we're projecting it on screen!
When scanning try to scan at 300 dpi so we can get a nice, crisp image when looking at your work on the projector
Make sure your images are centered
When doing mastercopies, make a little note of who the original artist was.
Suggestions for Your Work
Take some time with your work after field trips to clean things up and make your work read more clearly
Take another trip back to a location if you need to
Try different fields of vision, some of you need to try narrowing it down to a small close up range, and others need to open it up to a broader range.
Use Gary's pintrest and also do some side research to help you figure out how to finish your pieces and look at how some pros tackle problems you might be having in your paintings
Your Midterm Assignment
Do mastercopies and tag your work with the label Homework-Midterms
They can be digital or traditional, but I think we're leaning towards traditional. If you want to do digital work, have a healthy balance of both digital and traditional works.
These must be in color
Format your blog post vertically with your work on top, and the original underneath, put a space or two in between them so we can see the works individually.
Also tell us who the original artist was underneath their work
I'll link to a sample post (here)
